About Us

A Little Something Bakery came into existence because Mrs. Bolton had a dream.  She had worked 25 years for a major retailer until they were bought out.  She chose at that time not to stay on.  At age 40, Mrs. Bolton went to The Connecticut Culinary Institute and went through their Pastry and Baking program.  She worked full time and was raising her children at the same time.  When the time came to make a change, it was her children who told her to go open the bakery, do what makes you happy.  They told her she was always telling them to chase their dreams, it was her time to chase hers. 

The bakery is located on Park Road in West Hartford, CT.  The bakery is sandwiched between a "mom and pop" grocery store, known for their top-notch meat department, and a pizza place.  Both of our neighbors have given the bakery tons of support.  The location is one of the busiest intersections in this part of town, with two exits and entrances to Interstate 84 near by and Park Road acting as an artery into Hartford. 

One of best things about A Little Something Bakery, besides the smell, is the fact that everything is baked on site and that everything is made with the finest ingredients available to the bakery.  It is what gives the product such a great taste in addition to the great smell.

The bakery opened  with the belief that a great product will help customers make the connection between food and timesof happiness and prosperity.  Mrs. Bolton took this idea of creating a great product and stepped out ino a world that was full of doubt from the economic hardship people were facing.  When you walk through the door at the bakery, the first thing you notice is the smell of "baked goodness" (as one customer described the aroma).  It is the smell that should bring you back to a familiar kitchen.  It could have been your mom's, aunt's, grandmother's, or even the older lady next-door who baby-sat you as a kid.  It is the smell of chocolate chip cookies being baked as you walked in the door from school, or the smell of an apple pie being made for the holidays.

A Little Something Bakery is a neighborhood bakery, which offers a wide variety of items that bring people back to their childhood.  The bakery does not have one item that can be considered it's specialty, it is the idea of bringing someone back to a warm, happy place that is their specialty.
