Happiness is where you find it!

I opened A Little Something Bakery in 2009 on the belief that I had an excellent product and our town needed a good bakery. From the first day I opened everybody would walk through the front door and say how wonderful it smelled. It is the “smell” that takes people back to a time when they remembered chocolate chip cookies coming out of the oven when they got home from school or pies being baked at holiday times.

For me it was walking into my friend’s house after school and her mom had just baked blondies, I can still remember that smell to this day. On the day of Nancy’s mom’s funeral I had brought over a platter of treats. I walked in the back door like I had done a thousand times before and I was crying. Crying not only because Nancy’s mom was such an incredible woman, but because I would never have those smells again. How could it be that I would not have her blondies or chocolate cake anymore?

As a Christmas gift, Nancy had written out her mom’s blondie recipe and gave it to me in a Christmas card. I held onto that recipe for dear life. It took me right back 30 years to that kitchen. I was so happy I cried. I would always have Nancy’s mom with me.

A Little Something Bakery does that for many people.

“I don't care what age you are. There is nothing in this world better than warm cookies and cold milk. I may not be a little girl anymore, but to this day I swear that I smell Chocolate Chip Cookies as soon as I walk in the door of my mom's house, Beth thank you for bringing that back to me.”

“I have been trying to find a bakery that would do a special birthday cake for my sons’ first birthday. I had something specific in my mind and wanted a reasonable price. I visited so many bakeries, but I felt like I was dealing with family at A Little Something. When I picked up my son's cake I cried- HAPPY tears :))”

When you walk into A Little Something Bakery and now The Cookie Jar Café-you are walking into an early 1950’s style kitchen with a Magic Chef stove and a retro kitchen table.
It is at that kitchen table where you can have a treat, meet a friend or decide what kind of wedding cake you want.

It is that kitchen table where people have made friends. Lots of laughing and sometimes crying, but in the end it should make you feel at home.; at home in my kitchen.
There is lots of happiness to be had inside A Little Something Bakery and The Cookie Jar Café, hope you can stop in and have a seat at the kitchen table, grab yourself a cup of coffee while you are there.

See you soon,
Beth
